What is Formula Drift.

 What is Formula Drift.

I guess sometime you might wonder what is Formula Drift, What they do, What based are the professional drifters Judged on.

So here I am, fasten up your seat belt and lets gooo..

Formula Drift.

Formula drift is a motorsport event. Its a 8 round Drifting championship series.
Its a 2 day event goes as.

1st day practice and qualifying: Qualifying is based on scoring system.

There are 3 judges They Judge 3 different things
  • 1st is line: There is a accelerating and deceleration line that drivers has to follow.
  • Clipping zones
  • proximity to the wall, getting close to the wall.
  • 2nd is angle: basically how much angle the driver throws in.
  • its a balance of angle n speed.
  • 3rd is style: Means like smoothness into transition, initiation etc like that. basically performance.
On this things the drivers are scored and listed in top 32,...

there are crazy Crazy specd cars in FD. One of my Favorite in Dean karnages Dodge viper.

2nd day is Race day: Its time to go head to head with others.

The judgment is based same. But the car are tandeming with each other which make its interesting.

  • There will be 2 cars on track, a Chaser n A leader.
  • There will be 2 rounds. The chaser n leader round 1 n leader switches to chaser n vice versa.
  • The chaser is judge based on the distance to leader, n line n other.
  • The 3 judges votes for, and the can also vote for one more time with the drivers have to do their runs again.
  • The judgement is based on majority. If 2 judges vote one guy n 1 judge vote other. The 2 votes wins.

FD is not just watching, you have full access to pit lane, There are autograph session, their are car shows, their things to buy Cars parts, and snacks.

FD is full of skill based. How a driver control a out of control car. so next time one just pulling hand break and thinking that they are drifting think again.

And my channel is made after the inspiration of a Pro FD driver, Dean Karnage. Go Give him a follow
Thank dean♥️.

What's Formula E. And everything you need to know about ABB Formula E.

As my Recent comment by my friend. Wanna know about Formula E.

So here I am. Fasten your seatbelts. And lets Gooo..

ABB Formula E Is an single seater all electric racing series/Championship. There are 2 car and 2 driver from each team Racing on the City Streets From all over the globe Blocked and made tracks for the race. These cars are driven by fully electric powertrain.

Some of the worlds biggest car manufacture compete in the races.

Now to the interesting parts of FE.

Currently there are 12 teams and 24 drivers. Race each other on the small tracks/ circuit's.

  • Unlike as formula 1, ever car in FE has a baseline power of 200kw/ 270 Hp. Not much I know But they go 0-60mph/ almost 100kmp In 2.8sec. (That's fast) WIth a top speed of 174mph/280 kmph.

  • Formula e cars has a limited  battery capacity, and the drivers have to manage it ansd finish the race.(Before they used to swap cars, where the driver has to pit and jump in to the similar car but not any more)

  • The teams have to always keep an eye out for the battery level. If they Run out of the power they are done for the race. The team have to manage the usage of the battery.

  • Race format: the race goes like 45min+one lap. And first to cross the finish wins.

  • Power boost: Like as our video games we used to have boost pad, Yes we have such thing in formula E. It is called attack mode. There will be an activation zone Which will be off of the racing like, so that might lead to lose some time and might places to. But the attack mode give the driver who goes on the activation zone gets like Extra 25kw which is 30 more Hp. And the driver car use the boost when ever he wants.
  • How many activation zone, how long they last are different at every track and these aere not announced by the officials until 1hour before the race. Its make the team to make their strategies In limited amount of time.

  • Another way of getting power boost is called Fan Boost. Fans vote for their favorite driver online. The voting starts 6 days before race and ends 5 after the race starts. So the driver will not even know that he is going to get that boost until the middle of the race. The fan boost give the to 5 voted driver like 40-50kw power for 5 seconds, which is like 50-65 more hp.(that's a lot).

  • And the spectators will also know weather the driver is using boost or not as the led light glows if he is using the power/boost on the car safety halo. The light glows blue if he is using attack mode, if the lights glows magenta That indicate he is using Fan boost.

  • Driver And skills matter: as I previously said ever cars are identical to each other. so it makes the best one takes the win. As there are price caps on power train and chassis components. which makes the manufacture to not outspend on the car to make it faster.

  • More over takes, Lots of action, interesting races, unpredictable winners. as every car are almost same and the track is narrow, battery management, fan boosts, attack mode, all of their courses/ tracks are Street courses/ street turned into tracks.
  • And also Fans/ spectators are allowed in pit lane and have a walk around the track before race starts. Which no motorsport event does that.

That's it for today let me know if I missed something. and also let me know if this was helpful or interesting for you in the comment. and if you want me to write on any other topic related motor sport ill do that.

Thank you guy
see you in next one
until that stay safe and keep #promotingmotorsport.

Things you should never do while drifting on track.

Things you should never do while Drifting.

Photo by Rangga Aditya Armien from Pexels.

After my last blog on "How to drift"

Now its time to learn what not to do in Drifting.

So lets jump in to it.

1st. Pull the handbrake while clutch is engage.

So if you wanna have fun on the track and not blow something up please avoid this.
Whenever you wanna pull handbrake make sure u first clutch in and the hand break, the let go of Hand break and then let of clutch. If you do both at the same time you might end up blowing up the clutch disk, break fly wheel, snap you axels, and damage your hand break.

2nd. Holding on to the steering wheel.

Normally you dont wanna let go of your steering wheel, but things are different in drifting.
Here you need to let go of steering wheel to counter steer it self then catching it and adjusting it. If you keep on holding if you will spin out. As a beginner you need to learn to let go of the steering then catching it.

3rd. Spinning out and proceed to do donut.

As I said this in my previous blog Spinning out is nothing be shame on. Most people after spinning out starts doing donut. My suggesting dont, Just get your self out of the track see weather a car is coming at you or not. Pull off, collect your self then, Try to correct where you went wrong.

4th. Pushing The limits Too much.

As you get out there, you always try to get  better n better which is good but Pushing way too much is never good. Pace yourself, try to slowly get build it up. You never wanna be on a new track and going full send on first lap and going into the wall. Try to understand the track, the car, and your self.

5th. Finishing or passing the finish slamming on the breaks.

Always  keep in mind if someone is behind you or not. As you pass the finish keep going. try not to slow down like 10 mph, slamming the break. You might disturb the whole pack behind you. that's really bad.

6th. Jumping directly into tandems with random.

First of all as a beginner tandems are Big No-No. Jumping into tandems with strangers never. tandems require lots of car control and and concentration and knowing the driving style of partner. Never try to skip the levels. you will eventually get there but slowly.

That's all for today....

HOPE YOU GOT SOME HELP OUT OF MY BLOG.

STAY SAFE, STAY DRIFTING....😎

How to Drift.(beginner steps)

 How to DRIFT.

After all, buying the car, setting up to drift. Now its time to Drift.
if you have check out my previous blog about it i recommend you to check it out first.
Previous blogs-

How easy it looks. I swear its not.

Basically drifting is the combination of steering, accelerating and breaking at same time, to maintain the car sideways.

So lets get into it.

STEP-1.  Initiation

So first thing is Initiating a drift.

A Drift can be initiated in ways like:
  • weight transfer.
  • Clutch kick.
  • Hand break.
  • or (power sliding).
For a person who is learning to drift need to first feel the car so start with weight Shifting.
  • Weight transfer: What you do is as you approach the corner. as shown in the image above.
You go Inside to the corner of respective turn. Then you turn Outside of the corner And turn slightly in AT this point your rear end starts sliding. Now you have to start counter steering.
By avoiding over steer and under steer, which means not too much of input, nor less steering input, these things might lead you to spin you out or straighten you out.

  • Clutch Kick: same as the step above instead of wiggling your car too much. You Push you clutch all the way in And you dump you clutch while staying into the power. Which leads to tire spin. now continue with counter steer.
  • Hand break: One of the most common initiations. You pull your hand break, which lead to rear lock and according to your steering input leads your rear to slide out. Now release your hand break with counter steer and get on the power.
  • Power slide: Its little bit different that drifting but still might help you get side ways. What you do here is you turn in to the corner according while Appling power which leads to slide out your rear end. now counter steer according and managing the power.

STEP-2. Holding the drift.

After initiating the drift its time to hold the drift
In this step you have to constantly have to module the power, steering input, and breaks accordingly.

  • Power: Giving gas or acceleration as much as it required, not always you need to be pedal to the metal. power modulation is necessary to hold the drift. If too much power given you might spin out. If Given less power you gonna straighten up.
  • Steering: While drifting let the steering counter steer it self and catch it at the angle. steering is important as it decides your way you wanna go dont oversteer too much as you will straighten out, under steer you will spin.
  • Clutch: In continuous drift you might need to clutch kick if u feel the power is going down.
  • Breaks: Some time Hand break and front break is also required in mid drift. to slow down or angle, and continuing.
  • Angle: Not always at every corner you can throw reverse entry or huge angle. In Beginning try to maintain decent angle. Then try to bum it up. too much angle leads to spin.
Note: not always you may spin out, or straighten out, It might be worse as crashing in to barriers or something, so always be safe and keep others safe to.

STEP-3. Ending the drift.

As said "Everything at some point of life has a end or gonna end"

like as other thing ending is as important and as difficult.
"Ending makes a good drift better and better drift best".
said by "cars and bikes addicted"

Now what we are gonna do is slowly getting of the power as the end approaches, and straightening out the wheel. Dont break as you might lock the steering.  Dont suddenly get out of power as you might get a kick in you back by grip. Dont suddenly straighten up might lead to a spin.

After that you can Happily walk out of your car.

Crashing or spinning is not shame or lower of your status, It always means you are TRYING. and you will achieve it.

"Keep practicing as practice makes a man perfect".

I believe following are the basic steps for a beginner. To have knowledge about,
always remember drifting is dangerous sport, please keep your self safe by using safety equipment's, and keeping other safe by drifting in non public places.

Always wear helmet while drifting, rqacing or any sorts of motorsport event, even its a car. let the helmet be non fia approved but use a good quality helmet.

HERE IS MY AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK TO ONE GOOD HELMET. IN REASONABLE PRICE.
